Robert Lewandowski shared the reasons why he wanted to leave Bayern
Robert Lewandowski shared with ESPN about the reasons why he wanted to leave Bayern, after there were rumors that Bayern wanted to sign Haaland at the end of the 2021/22 season (Haaland is now at the Etihad):
"No, it has nothing to do with Haaland. I don't see a problem if he goes to Bayern Munich [in case I'm still there]. But there are people [at Bayern] who don't tell me the truth. Everything should be clear, but they don't want it like that. After all, I don't like that ambiguity, and thought it was time to leave."
"Right now, I'm at the right place. A few weeks before I left Bayern, a 'political' story broke out. The club tried to find an excuse to sell me, because it was very difficult to explain to the Fans. And I have to accept that they're all gossiping bulls--- about me. It's fabricated of course, but I know the Bayern fans, to this day, they still support me."
In response, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said: "I couldn't figure it out. My dad used to tell me that, if you go anywhere, never close the door with your butt. With Lewandowski, he's on his way." #bayernmunich #Lewandowski #football
